Water Bending Made Easy
Just a quick post outlining a fairly simple experiment I’m sure many of you know. The above image involves no trickery yet we clearly see water bending around the comb. How does this work? The trick lies in good old fashioned static electricity: due to water’s polarity the positive charge becomes attracted to the negative charge of the comb (or vice versa) causing the stream to bend towards it. Balloons also work fairly well so go and have a try.

If I remember correctly from watching Mr. Wizard, it works best if you use a hard rubber comb.

I TRIED IT
IT WORKED
ONE DOWN, THREE TO GO
I WILL BE THE AVATAR

Tried this in school. I’m a water bender obviously.
